Hi! I am Joan Palomar Sison, 19 years old, currently living in Dampol 1st, Pulilan, Bulacan. I am a 1st-year student at Baliuag Polytechnic College, taking a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with a major in English. I would like to take this opportunity to share with you my life testimony and to express my gratitude. My journey with the Child Sponsorship Program began when I was 15 years old and continues until now. This program was a life-changing opportunity for me and my family who struggled to afford my education. It was not only a financial aid, but also a sign of hope and encouragement. It showed me that someone believed in me and cared about my dreams.
Architecture has always fascinated me, ever since I was a child. I aspired to create beautiful buildings that would have a positive impact on my neighborhood. However, I realized that it was not an easy dream to accomplish because of our financial situation and lack of opportunities. Therefore, I decided to change my career path to become an educator instead.
As a future educator, I developed a love for teaching and influencing the children who will become future leaders. I also discovered that I could still express my creativity and passion for architecture in my studies. I enjoyed applying architectural ideas and projects to my schoolwork, such as drawing posters and learning about different styles and cultures through architecture. I also encouraged everyone to pursue their dreams and interests, even if they were challenging. Even though I didn't take the path of becoming an architect in the conventional sense, I found a way to fulfill my dream in a different and meaningful way. I am happy to be a future educator and an architecture enthusiast.
As a college student, I also faced many challenges and difficulties in my studies. Sometimes, I felt like quitting and giving up, but then I remembered the people who loved me and supported me along the way, like my family. One of them is the Kapatid Ministry (KMI). KMI has always supported me and cheered me up. They have visited me and the other sponsored children to make us feel better and motivate us to keep trying. They have also prayed for me and my family and shared with me some wisdom and advice. KMI has shown me God’s love through their words and actions. They have been a source of grace on my journey. Because of them, I have been able to overcome many challenges and achieve many accomplishments in my college life. I have kept good grades and joined various activities and projects that have improved my skills and knowledge.
For example, I participated in workshops, seminars, and webinars that helped me improve my teaching abilities and deepen my understanding of various subjects. I learned about different teaching methods, curriculum design, and more. I also got valuable guidance and feedback from experienced professors who encouraged me to pursue my goals and overcome any challenges. I have also made many friends who have helped me grow as a person and as a future educator.

I have learned so much from KMI and my experiences. I was also able to build a relationship with God, where I found a spiritual family that nurtured my faith and encouraged me to grow in love and service. Through KMI sponsorship, they have not only helped financially but also mentally and spiritually. They have inspired me to overcome my challenges, to pursue my dreams, and to share my gifts with others. They have shown me the true meaning of grace and generosity.
Even though it is still a long way to becoming an educator, I am looking forward to fulfilling my career in the field that I chose and hopefully starting my dream in the field I love—architecture. I am also looking forward to giving back to my family, our church, my community, and KMI because they have invested so much in me, and I want to honor them by using my talents and abilities for God’s glory.
I am amazed by how wonderful and incredible God is. He has given me so many wonderful gifts in my life that I don’t even know where to start. He has exceeded all my expectations and dreams. He has placed people in my life who love me and support me no matter what.

He talks to me in so many ways that I always know that He is there and listening.
Again, I am deeply grateful for KMI’s generosity and kindness. They have made a lasting impact on my life and the lives of many other children. You are a true blessing from God, and I thank Him for having you in my life.
Thank you for being a part of my story.
