Blessing Seniors in Tarlac

by Pastor Richard Abalos

I am Pastor Richard S. Abalos from Bamban Good Shepherd Bible Baptist Church.

How did the church minister to the Senior Citizens in the area before KMI Bless A Senior Program?

Our church has programs for our senior members like gathering them for a cell group for Bible study, sharing their experiences on the goodness of the Lord in their lives, and sharing all their prayer requests, but we did not have a program for the elders in our community yet.

How was KMI Bless A Senior Program introduced to you/church and how did it make an impact in the church outreach?

During the pandemic, Ma'am Beth introduced the Bless A Senior Program to me and I told our church about it. It was really a great program because we could extend our senior program in our community, and made it easy for us to do so by doing the idea offered by KMI. Reaching the seniors in our community enabled us to share with them the word of God, especially the gospel of salvation. After that, our seniors would receive assistance in the form of groceries, rice, and even medicines.

What are the challenges that you saw and how can we pray for them?

As a result of this activity, we have grown to appreciate elders even more and have come to realize that they really need much attention that sometimes even their own families fail to do. One of the challenges I have seen is figuring out how we can help more seniors by assisting them with urgent daily needs. Join us in praying for them so that they could understand that God really loves them despite the difficulties they are facing every day.
